Biography

Don graduated high school from Medina High in Medina, Ohio. After moving to Southern California he earned his Associates in Arts from Orange Coast College. Don began his biology education at Irvine Valley College and thereafter transferred to CSUF, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude, and earning his B. A. in Biology. His concentration is in ecology and interests include: conservation, animal behavior, and evolution.

This past year Don completed the credential program at CSUF, and shortly after was hired by an at risk school in the Santa Ana Unified School District. At NOVA Academy Don will be teaching biology and anatomy/physiology to 9th-11th grades. Though it will be a busy year for him, it will be one of the most rewarding and impactful years yet.

Professional Experience

  • Science On The Go - traveling science education company serving Orange County elementary schools (Kindergarten – 6th grades). Content area taught: earth, life and physical sciences.
  • Orange County Libraries - public life science presenter/educator.
  • Yorba Linda Public School District Summer Enrichment Program – Natures Wonders science class, 3rd -6th grades.
  • Carl Harvey Elementary, Santa Ana, CA - After school programs: Character Building.
